Kamchatka from other hunting areas around the world is its unparalleled concentration of coastal
brown bears. The peninsula boasts the highest density of brown bears per square mile, ensuring an extraordinary hunting experience unmatched anywhere on the planet. It is common to see 20 or more bears each hunting day during the Spring.
Abundant Wildlife It is estimated that the annual harvest of brown bears does not exceed 5-10% of
the total population. In fact, there is no legal limit on the number of bears that a hunter can take on a hunt,
and many hunters elect to take an extra bear available on a trophy fee basis. The majority of bear
mortality in Kamchatka is attributed to natural causes and predation, highlighting the healthy ecosystem
that supports these magnificent creatures. A bountiful supply of fish, pine nuts, and kelp provide plenty of
protein.
Impressive Trophy hunters can expect to encounter several Mature Kamchatka brown bears averaging well over 9 feet square in size. A very good number taken will meet and even cross the 10 foot mark if the hunter is patient and hunts selectively.
