New Zealand's red stag is the roar of the Southern Alps made real. Hunt genuinely free-range stags across our private high-country runs during the March–April roar, when mature stags come to the call across tussock basins and beech-forest edges. From the mountain-ringed lodge you glass and stalk on foot for a hard-antlered stag on your terms. Choose a management stag, a trophy Otago stag, or a premium 300+ Douglas-score stag — bow or rifle. Day rates cover accommodation, main meals and guiding ($500 per hunter / $250 per non-hunter, per day). A $1,000 reserve holds your dates — request this season's open windows and a Dispatch advisor takes care of the rest.

Second hunt with Dispatch and the Red Stag, Tahr, Chamois trip did not disappoint. South Island is no joke — physically demanding — but the camp, the food and the guiding were all first class. Tagged out on a great animal and made memories that'll last forever.
From the first phone call to the flight home, these folks were dialed in. The Red Stag, Tahr, Chamois country in South Island is everything they said it would be. Professional guides, honest advice, and a hunt I'll be telling stories about for years.
Booked my Red Stag, Tahr, Chamois hunt through Dispatch and it was flawless start to finish. The advisor was honest about the terrain and fitness in South Island, and everything they promised showed up exactly as described. My guide knew the country cold. Can't recommend it enough.
