Description

Dispatch hunts, is one of the leading outfitters in Mongolia. Our team consists of some of the most skilled hunting guides and game professionals. Dispatch Hunts partners with premier hunting territories across the country, including the Western Altai Mountains, the Hangai Region, and the Gobi Desert.

We specialize in big game hunts, focusing on Altai, Hangai, and Gobi Argali, as well as Altai and Gobi Ibex and Maral Elk. Additionally, we expertly organize hunts for other game species such as gazelles, roe deer, wolves, and wild boar. Fishing and wing-shooting adventures are also available, either as standalone activities or as complementary experiences to primary hunts.

Everyone on our team, from field staff to management, brings years of experience in hunting and conservation. We take pride in our achievements, having produced some of Mongolia’s finest trophies in recent years, including Altai Argali, Hangai Argali, Gobi Argali, and Ibex. These successes are a testament to our professionalism and commitment to effective conservation in our hunting areas.

Wildlife Conservation and Community Support
Dispatch Hunts partners with eight hunting areas across the Western Altai region, Central Mongolia, and the Southern Gobi Desert through agreements with local governments. Each hunting area is supported by scientifically designed and socially accepted conservation projects tailored to its unique ecosystem.

One of our key initiatives is the “Hay for Winter” program. During autumn, we prepare and transport sufficient hay to secure storage sites built in mountainous regions and within hunting areas. This ensures that wildlife has access to food during the harshest winter and early spring months, when natural feed is scarce. To further support wildlife during summer, we strategically place salt blocks in all habitats according to carefully planned schedules, helping animals build essential fat reserves.

In collaboration with local governments, we are implementing pasture management projects in some areas. One of the greatest threats to wildlife in Mongolia is the expansion of domestic livestock grazing. To address this, local governments are increasingly recognizing the importance of wildlife conservation and have committed to prohibiting land allocation for animal husbandry within designated hunting areas. We also provide financial subsidies to encourage herders to relocate from critical wildlife habitats, helping to expand and restore these shrinking ecosystems.

Local herders play a vital role in our conservation efforts. They are actively involved in all our projects and rewarded for their contributions. Their involvement extends to our hunting operations, where they assist with pre-scouting, guiding hunters, and providing horses—key services that ensure the success of our expeditions. Supporting local communities is central to our mission. We provide regular training for community members on conservation practices, wildlife monitoring, and trophy hunting services. By fostering their involvement, we ensure that conservation and hunting directly benefit local livelihoods. This, in turn, strengthens their commitment to protecting Mongolia’s invaluable wildlife.

MONGOLIA

Mongolia is a premier destination for mountain game hunting, offering a dream experience for many hunters. The Altai Mountains in the western part of the country are home to the world’s largest wild sheep—the Altai Argali (Ovis ammonammon). Large herds of Siberian Ibex (Capra sibirica) roam the rocky slopes above the timberline, while Maral Stags (Cervus elaphus) and brown bears inhabit the dense, wooded river valleys.

The Gobi Desert, a unique and rugged landscape, serves as a haven for some of the world’s rarest species, including the Gobi Bear, wild camels, and wild horses, It is the habitat of the Gobi Argali (Ovis ammon darwini), Gobi Ibex, and white-tailed gazelles. Meanwhile, Central and Northern Mongolia are characterized by forested mountain steppe zones teeming with abundant wildlife, including Maral Stags, Siberian roe deer, wild boar, and grey wolves.

Mongolia has developed a highly successful wildlife management program, enabling wildlife to thrive in areas designated for trophy hunting. In recent years, the country has produced some of the largest Argali sheep and ibex trophies, breaking records that had stood for over two decades.

For adventurous sportsmen seeking a well-organized hunting experience in a remote and captivating land, Mongolia offers unparalleled opportunities. Here, you can immerse yourself in a culture that has remained largely unchanged for thousands of years while exploring one of the world’s most fascinating landscapes.

ARGALI HUNTS

Mongolia is home to three of the world’s largest wild sheep species: the Altai Argali (Ovis ammon ammon), Hangai Argali (Ovis ammon darwini mongolica), and the Gobi Argali (Ovis ammon darwini). These majestic animals inhabit distinct regions: the Altai Argali thrive in the high Altai Mountains, the Hangai Argali roam the Central Mongolian Hangai Range, and the Gobi Argali are found in the lower mountains of the Gobi Desert.

The Altai Argali, the largest of all argalis, is often called the “King of Sheep” by international trophy hunters. With its massive, beautifully shaped horns, the Altai Argali is a dream for wildlife enthusiasts and hunters alike. Our hunting areas for Altai Argali are among the best in Mongolia, thanks to exceptional natural habitats and dedicated conservation efforts. Over recent years, these areas have consistently produced world-record Altai Argali trophies.
An Altai Argali hunt typically spans 10–12 days, while hunts for Hangai and Gobi Argali are slightly shorter, lasting 8–10days. Every hunt is guided by the most experienced professionals, ensuring a successful and rewarding experience.

Accommodation is provided in traditional Mongolian gers, and transportation includes jeeps for travel between locations. Most of the hunting, however, is conducted on horseback or on foot, offering an authentic and immersive adventure. Each client is supported by a team that includes a professional guide and a local hunter. Camps are typically set up for individual hunters, although arrangements can be made for two hunters wishing to share the experience.

Our hunting areas in these remote regions consistently produce outstanding trophies, with some of the largest ibex in Mongolia found here. While the hunts can be physically demanding due to the mountainous terrain, success rates are virtually 100%, making it a rewarding experience for dedicated hunters.

The Gobi Ibex, though smaller than its Altai counterpart, shares many similarities in appearance and behavior. The Gobi Desert, home to the Gobi Ibex, is one of Asia’s most captivating ecosystems, boasting unique flora and fauna. Hunting the Gobi Ibex offers an unparalleled opportunity for international hunters to experience this remarkable landscape.
For those seeking additional adventure, White Gazelles are abundant in the Gobi and can be included as part of a Gobi Ibex hunting program.
